The pan mill is a grinder for crushing and mixing of clay, stones or ores, but also for paper raw materials or food.

One or two standing heavy discs, the so-called runners, rotate around a vertical axis on a base plate and grind the contents. Pan mills are suitable for grinding sticky, wet, moist or dry materials and are therefore often used in heavy ceramics.
