Mixing without vibrations and complete preparation
The synthetic molding sand at Eisengießerei Ludwig Frischhut in the Bavarian town of Neumarkt-St. Veit is prepared with a state-of-the-art mixing system.
The preparation of molding sand in foundries mostly takes place in mixers that have vertically mounted mixer tools with agitators. This is also the case at the Gießerei Ludwig Frischhut foundry (part of the TALIS Group since 2010) located in Neumarkt-St. Veit, Germany, where a TuneMixx mixing tool system is used to treat and mix the sand components. This system not only ensures quieter mixing, a higher level of treatment, and lower electricity consumption, but also significant increase in throughput.
The Fischhut foundry prepares its synthetic molding sand in a tilted intensive mixer. Over a long perio the extreme vibrations of the foundry's old star agitator led to cracks in the mixe frame. The Maintenance Management Initiative, in collaboration with the executive, decided to exploit a market innovation to reduce the vibrations caused by imbalancees, and selected the TuneMixx mixing tool system from Krauskopf Maschinentechnik in Buchen…
